Extension plate V2.0 for KTM 690 Enduro (2019+) / GasGas ES 700 Luggage rack SD

I got the baseplate and ran with it for 2 yerars. I was constantly worrying about the Kriega OS80 dropping onto the exhaust of my KTM 690 Enduro R 23.

I should have just bought this as well back then because I no longer have that problem.
If you need to carry luggage just also buy this plate.

This review covers the V2.0 extension plate fitted on my 2021 KTM SMC-R 690 paired with the SD luggage rack installed together.

Starting with the base rack, its biggest strength is how unobtrusive it looks. It retains a clean, integrated factory appearance, does not protrude from the tail section, and does not obscure the tail lights. This makes it an excellent option for riders who want to preserve the stock look while still having the flexibility to mount a small bag. Importantly, the rack allows continued access to the fuel cap and under-seat compartment without obstruction when carrying light luggage. Naturally when securing larger loads on the tail, it is reasonable to expect that the load may need to be removed to access the fuel cap and under-seat compartment. This is a trade-off inherent to tail-mounted luggage options for this bike model rather than a shortcoming of the rack itself.

The V2.0 extension plate is a very useful addition providing a larger footprint for securing bulkier loads. It offers multiple lashing points on both the flat surfaces and the downward-angled sides, making it significantly easier to strap down luggage securely and neatly.

Overall, the product is well thought out and practical, making it possible to go on a multi-day tour on this bike with just a mid-sized haversack strapped to the tail, turning this Street Slayer into a tour-capable machine for twisty mountain roads.

A welcomed enhancement would be to have the option to powder coat the rack in preferred colours.

Quality products with really good instructions.

This is a great quality item and light too. Good instructions. Only issue was I didn’t get the spacers and bolts to go with them. I did email but haven’t had an answer. Was hoping to have raised the plate on the base but can’t without the spacers.
