Mosko moto Backcountry 30l Duffle is a sturdy, fully waterproof tail bag with plenty of neat features. Let's dive into details.
The bike is 2024 KTM 690 Enduro. Coming out of the factory, there is no convenient way to add any luggage onto the tail. That's why we have designed our Perun moto Luggage rack for it.
Luggage rack works great for various rack-less luggage systems and smaller tail bags, up to 20 liters in size. Larger bags require more surface area for proper support, and that's where our Extension plate comes into play.
Extension plate bolts onto the Luggage rack and provides substantially larger surface. Large bags, like the Backcountry duffle, benefit from this.
For installation of the bags, I'm using two cinch straps. These are fixed to slots on the Extension plate and Luggage rack.
Since all of the edges, both on luggage rack and extension plate, are chamfered, straps will have longer life span. Straps are then passed trough openings in Backcountry's top flap and underneath integrated tent pole bag. This keeps the straps neatly tucked away and enables them to compress and secure the bag.
Photos above show the bag on a different bike, but strap routing is the same.
The upper flap comes in handy for storing rain gear or additional thermal layers in mixed conditions. Clearly, it can be used for many other items.
Backcountry duffle features roll top closure at both ends. This makes its size adjustable, and also helps to reach the things from inside. The bag is shown partially filled in these photos. It can be expanded when more space is needed. Just keep in mind that this would increase the overall width/length of the bag.
Molle panel on the top gives even more options for adding smaller pouches.
The bag has grab handles on three sides and stove-away backpack styled shoulder straps. This makes it easy to handle and carry around when it's not on the bike.
Here is a short video which may give you a better understanding of how the Mosko Backcountry 30l duffle fits the KTM 690.
And a couple more photos from different angles.
If you’re riding a 690 and need to haul gear with confidence, this combo has you covered—on the road, the trail, or anywhere in between.
