For solo riders, removing the passenger foot-rest brackets can be a practical choice. It's an easy way to shred off some weight, and there is less stuff on the bike to be damaged in case of a fall. However, this creates a problem when it's time to install rack-less bags. There is nowhere to attach lower straps. That was the main reasoning behind design and creation of Perun moto BMW F900GS Tie-down brackets.
Our Tie-down brackets are designed as an extremely lightweight replacement for passenger foot-rest brackets. CNC milled from a durable aluminum-magnesium alloy, these brackets weigh just around 100g for the pair. This precision engineering not only ensures a substantial reduction in weight but also enhances the strength and reliability of the brackets. Sleek deep matte black powder coating gives them that special touch.
All edges are chamfered and smooth, ensuring long service life of the straps. Slots are large enough to fit Kriega G-hooks, as found on their OS-Bases (as of time of writing this blog, there is still no dedicated Kriega OS-Base for the F900GS).
Tie-down brackets attach to the bike with two torx M8 bolts per side. Mounting hardware is included in the package.
Installation is extremely simple. Just remove the stock foot-rest brackets and install Perun moto BMW F900GS Tie-down brackets in their place. For installation instructions please click HERE.
Once installed on the bike, Tie-down brackets have very low profile. They are out of the way and there is next to zero chance that they will interfere with boots.
Each Tie-down bracket can be installed on either side of the bike. Depending on their orientation, the slots will move a bit more forward or backward. This enables greater flexibility when it comes to mounting various rack-less luggage systems. It's easy to fine-tune the position in a way which ensures optimal angle of the straps.
We have tested these with several rack-less setups from Mosko moto, Giant loop and Enduristan and can confirm that everything fits as expected. In all cases, top straps of the bags are secured to Perun moto BMW F900GS Top luggage rack.
