When we recently got our hands on a set of new Mosko moto Reckless 10 v2.0 bags, it quickly became clear that the fit on a BMW F900GS is not ideal. New CURV harness is stiff and is not wide enough to fit over our Top luggage rack comfortably. What we did? We went back to the drawing board and revisited an idea that was lingering for a while. A Mini Top Rack, niche product designed to offer several mounting positions for the Mosko moto Gnoblin and their current range of rackless bags.
I have written about design features of the Mini top rack in a recent article, so that's a great place for additional info for those interested. In this article we will take a closer look at the fit of Reckless 10 v2.0.

As mentioned, Mini rack is designed to work with the Gnoblin. Out of the four pre-drilled holes, second one from the front works best with the R10.

Gnoblin bolts on within minutes, both onto the rack and the harness. That's a one time job. Once the Gnoblin is on, it takes only a couple of seconds to secure the Reckless 10 into place.

Thanks to the narrow design of the Mini rack, harness is not rubbing on its corners. There should be no hot-spots on the protection foam on the underside of the R10.

To attach lower straps, we are using Perun moto Tie-down brackets. These lightweight, minimalist replacements for passenger foot rest brackets offer a convenient place to secure the straps.

Tie-down brackets are mutually interchangeable. Flipping them from one side of the bike to another provides fore-aft position change. For the Reckless 10, either position will work. We have them mounted pointing to the back.

Mounted like this, the bags will stay away from the rider. There is plenty of daylight between them and the silencer so heat should never be an issue. This setup can be safely used without a heat shield.

Reckless 10 is a small capacity, daily pack. Once mounted, it's easy to forget you have it on the bike. What can fit inside? Well, in photos shown here, one side holds a Mosko moto Fatty tool roll, while the other has a chunky rain jacket and a tubeless tire repair kit with air compressor. There is still enough room for snacks and rain pants. If more space is needed, it is possible to strap a tail bag onto the harmess.

A focused, no-nonsense solution that makes the Reckless 10 v2.0 work exactly as it should on the BMW F900GS.
