CF-Moto 450MT Ibex with Mosko moto Reckless 40

CF-Moto 450MT is a surprisingly capable mid-sized adventure bike. Fitting the right set of rack-less bags prepares it for fun off the beaten paths. Mosko moto Reckless 40 (v4.0) offers decent capacity for weekend trips and it pairs really well with the 450MT.

As we have explained in an earlier ARTICLE, OEM top rack with integrated grab handles isn't suitable for rack-less bags. Grab handles are pushing the bags too far out, resulting in a fit that's far from ideal. On the other hand, Perun moto Top luggage rack for CF-Moto 450MT / Ibex is designed primarily to serve as an attachment point for rack-less bags.

As such, it's not surprising to see the Reckless 40 fit perfectly. This time, we're mounting the Reckless 40 in combination with the Gnoblin. Out of the three possible positions, rear one works the best. Using straps is also possible. It takes a bit longer to mount the bags with straps, but they offer greater adjustment range.

We weren't aware of it at the time when photos were taken, but adding spacers, around 10mm, between the rack and Gnoblin greatly helps with the ease of putting the bags on and off the bike. Spacers are included with the newer Gnoblins we have received. You can use a stack of flat washers to the same effect. The picture below shows different rack, but illustrates this well.

As for mounting the Gnoblin on the Reckless 40 harness, we found out the middle position works the best.

Part of the rack remains free behind the harness, so it's possible to strap down a tent or a small dry bag. Beaver tail on the R40 also serves as a great spot for additional luggage.

Mounted like this, the lower straps can be secured around front part of the passenger foot rest brackets. Strap length is kept to a minimum, resulting in a more stable fit. As can be seen from the photo below, it isn't possible to move the bags further forward.

450MT has a low and relatively small silencer. There is plenty of room between bags and exhaust so heat should not be an issue. If you plan to run Reckless 40 with the Aux-pox, it might be a good idea to add a heat shield. We haven't tested this combo, please let us know if you have.

The bags sit narrower than the handlebars. You just don't have to think about them while riding.

All in all, this is a well rounded luggage setup for shorter trips. With minimalist approach, it can be used for camping as well. Perun moto Top luggage rack for CF-Moto 450MT / Ibex offers secure attachment points both for straps and for the Gnoblin.

Reckless 40 itself has proven to be a tough, reliable luggage solution even for most demanding conditions.
