Perun Moto Top Luggage Rack Gen 2 for Yamaha Tenere 700 - Design details

The second generation of the Perun Moto Top Luggage Rack for the Yamaha Tenere 700 was developed to meet the demands of the updated 2025 model and modern rack-less luggage systems.

While the original rack proved reliable and widely used, the new version introduces structural improvements, updated geometry and enhanced compatibility with popular adventure luggage solutions. Although the overall shape remains familiar, the rack has been redesigned in all key areas.

An important note: both first and second generations of our Top luggage rack work with all versions and model years of the Yamaha Tenere 700.

Low-profile design optimized for rack-less luggage

The top plate sits almost flush with the stock seat, maintaining clean looks and keeping luggage weight low and close to the bike. This layout improves handling and stability, especially when using rack-less systems such as Mosko Moto Reckless bags.

Reinforced stainless steel side brackets

The side brackets have been significantly strengthened in high-load areas. They are manufactured from high-quality stainless steel and formed using custom bending tooling for increased rigidity and durability.

The updated geometry provides additional clearance between the rear mounting bolts and tail plastics on 2025 Yamaha Tenere 700 models. 

Integrated Mosko Moto Gnoblin mounting positions

The top plate now features dedicated mounting holes for the Mosko Moto Gnoblin system. Three mounting positions allow precise placement depending on luggage type and rider preference.

The underside of the top plate includes circular pockets for washers and nuts. These details simplify installation, ensure proper alignment and maintain the low-profile design while providing sufficient clearance for safety nuts.

Revised strap slots and improved edge finishing

The strap slots have been repositioned to match the updated plate geometry and to accommodate popular rack-less luggage systems, including Mosko Moto, Giant Loop and Enduristan.

All edges of the top plate are carefully finished to reduce strap wear. The outer contour features a two-millimeter radius, creating a smooth surface that protects luggage bases and improves long-term durability.

Tail bag and top case compatibility

The size of the top plate is optimized for tail bags in the 10 to 20 liter range, while larger bags can also be mounted securely. Pre-drilled holes are included for Kriega OS-Rack Loops, enabling fast attachment of Kriega US-series bags.

The rack is compatible with Givi and Kappa Monokey top cases as well as SW-Motech top cases. Case-specific mounting hardware is not included and must be purchased separately, but it mounts directly to the top plate without the need for heavy adapter plates.

Designed for versatility and durability

The Perun Moto Top Luggage Rack for the Yamaha Ténéré 700 is primarily designed for rack-less luggage systems and smaller tail bags, while also supporting top case installations when required. The focus of the design is functionality, strength and long-term reliability, with minimal impact on motorcycle ergonomics and aesthetics.
