In one of my earlier posts, I wrote about fitting the Mosko moto Reckless 10 on BMW R1300GS equipped with a Perun moto Gnoblin mount. That simple setup works great for minimal packing and short day rides.
But for longer trips, when you need to carry more gear, a more flexible luggage setup is key — and that’s where the Mosko moto Reckless 40 (v4.0) comes in.
For added mounting options, this time I'm running the Perun moto BMW R1300GS Top luggage rack - Sport on the bike. The rack provides several pre-drilled holes which can be used to easily install Mosko moto's Gnoblin in desired position.
I prefer to mount rackless bags as far forward as possible to keep the bike’s mass centralized. The GS is a big bike, so even with the Gnoblin installed in the most forward hole on the rack, there’s still plenty of room for me to move around on the seat.
Instead of using the Gnoblin, Reckless 40 can also be secured with built-in straps. Straps allow for quicker position adjustment on the fly and are my preferred choice.
As shown in the photos above, the rack includes several slots that provide versatile strap attachment points, making it easy to fine-tune the bag position
The biggest advantage of using the top rack (vs. just the minimalist Gnoblin mount) is the increased surface area. Like all Mosko Reckless bags, the Reckless 40 has a beavertail that can be used to secure a tail bag. Even with the Stinger 8 bag tucked under the beavertail, there’s still plenty of room on the rack to strap on a tent or other small dry bag.
To round out the installation, I run the lower straps to the Perun moto Tie-down brackets.. These replace the stock passenger footrest brackets and provide smooth, perfectly angled slots that make securing the bags simple and rock-solid.
Check out this short video of the Reckless 40 installed on the big GS:
With this setup, the R1300GS is ready for anything from day trips to fully loaded multi-day adventures — all while keeping the luggage compact and well-balanced.
