In a previous post, I covered how the Mosko Moto Reckless 40 pairs with the Perun Moto BMW R1300GS Top Luggage Rack - Sport — a compact, rackless solution ideal for lighter loads and shorter adventures. That setup struck a great balance between simplicity and function. But for longer trips that demand more packing space and flexibility, it’s time to step up to a larger system — the Mosko Moto Reckless 80 (v4.0) — still anchored by the same top rack, which proves just how adaptable the Perun Moto design really is.

For this setup, I’m again using the Perun moto BMW R1300GS Top luggage rack - Sport. This rack features multiple pre-drilled holes, offering a wide range of mounting positions for Mosko Moto’s Gnoblin. That flexibility makes it easy to dial in the placement that works best for your riding style and luggage setup.

On a big bike like the R1300GS, I aim to mount rack-less systems as far forward as possible to help centralize the load. Even with the Gnoblin mounted in the most forward position, there’s still plenty of room to move freely on the saddle — crucial for off-road maneuvering and long-distance comfort alike.

Another subtle but important benefit of the Perun Moto Sport Rack is the design of its integrated grab handles. While they’re intended primarily for lifting or maneuvering the bike, their positioning also allows them to act as minimalistic side supports for the bag. Combined with the inherent rigidity of the V4.0 Reckless 80’s composite harness, these handles help stabilize the setup and reduce unwanted movement — especially when riding off-road or over rough terrain.

Keep in mind that the bags will cover the grab handles once installed, so they won’t be accessible for lifting.

While the Gnoblin offers a clean, quick-release interface, the Reckless 80 ships with integrated straps for direct mounting. In this setup, I actually prefer using the straps — they offer more flexibility when it comes to fine-tuning the position and make it easy to adjust on the fly.

Whether you're adjusting the Reckless forward, backward, or centering it perfectly over the seat, the rack makes it all easy and stable.

To secure the lower legs of the Reckless 80, I use Perun moto Tie-down brackets. These replace the OEM passenger peg brackets and provide well-angled, smooth slots that are perfectly positioned for this type of rack-less luggage. The result is a clean, strong mount point that holds up to rough terrain without fuss.

This small but purposeful upgrade keeps the setup tight and minimizes strap wear over time.

With the low-slung exhaust silencer on the GS, heat is not a concern for Reckless 80. RHS bag sits far away from the silencer.

The Reckless 80, like all Mosko Reckless bags, includes a beavertail — ideal for securing additional gear. Next couple of photos show the Stinger 22 bag under the beavertail.

This layout gives you lots of modular storage without overwhelming the bike with bulk or compromising balance.

Here’s a quick video showing how the Reckless 80 fits on the R1300GS with this configuration. You'll see the exact strap layout and how the luggage interfaces with the rack and tie-down brackets.

With this setup the R1300GS becomes a capable long-distance adventure machine. Whether you’re riding for a weekend or heading into the backcountry for a full-blown expedition, this configuration keeps your load secure, your gear organized, and your riding position uncompromised.
