We designed our Ducati DesertX Top luggage rack to be low profile and stylish and to be used mostly with rack-less luggage and smaller duffle bags. However, we incorporated few extra features, such as top case compatibility. This was not an easy task, considering the design of the bike.
So we didn't push ourselves to make our Top rack compatible with pannier racks available on the market, as that would complicate the design too much. Also, we we were aware that there are already some top racks on the market, designed to work with pannier racks (Ducati OEM or Unit Garage) and we wanted to take a different approach.
But, thanks to the Advrider inmate Davin (aka Elmer), it turns out that our Top luggage rack can be installed with Ducati OEM pannier racks, with few extra spacers. Original post can be seen HERE (if not already an Advrider member, become one ASAP).
Davin installed the Ducati OEM pannier racks on top of Perun moto Top luggage rack. He used a spacer, approx. 4-5 mm thick (a stack of washers will do too) between the bike and the pannier rack - in the spot marked with the red circle. OEM bolts are long enough for this.
He didn't had to add any spacers on the 'green spot'. Some pushing and pulling was involved in the process, but not too much.
First, he tightened the bolts in the 'red spot', than in the 'green spot'.
According to Davin, all went smoothly.

Please note that these are not an official instructions - it is only a customers report and we haven't been able to test it by ourselves. I will try to get the pannier racks and test this by myself.
