Who loves tough, small capacity "over the seat" bags for day rides? Transferring tools, rain gear and snacks from backpack onto the bike is a welcome relief. Several options are available on the market. Today, we'll take a detailed look at Mosko moto Reckless 10 installed on a BMW F900GS. Please take note we're still using the original version of the Reckless 10. Version 2, with composite harness will most likely fit the same. Let us know if you had the chance of trying one.
To make installation as seamless as possible, our BMW F900GS Top luggage rack features several slots which serve as perfect anchorage points for straps.
With all of the edges being smooth and chamfered, lifespan of straps is greatly improved.
Straps are simply looped trough the slots and tightened. Using straps makes fore-aft position adjustment of the bags a lot faster than using the Gnoblin.
Once the straps are tightened, the bags are going nowhere.
For those who prefer installation with the Gnoblin, the rack features several pre-drilled holes for its installation.
It takes a couple of minutes to install the Gnoblin onto the rack, and it will probably take several attempts to find the ideal position (tip is to use straps for this. Once you have the best mounting position it should be possible to match it with the Gnoblin).
Regardless whether you use strap or the Gnoblin to secure the upper part of Reckless 10, lower straps can be attached to passenger foot rest brackets. If you don't ride with a pillion (which is next to impossible with any rack-less luggage setup anyway), you can ditch the passenger foot rest brackets and install Perun moto Tie-down brackets in their place.
These offer minimalistic, lightweight anchorage points. Slots are oriented at optimal angles to provide support for straps. And, same as with the top rack, all of the edges are chamfered. Excess webbing length can be cut away (think twice if you plan on using the same bags on different bikes) or neatly tucked with velcro closure.
F900GS has a relatively low hung silencer and bags will sit far away. There is no real risk of any heat damage to the RHS bag.
Even though rear end of the bike is narrow, the bags will hug it nicely. Sitting partially on "side panels" under the seat gives them support and it's unlikely the bags will bounce.
This is a narrow setup and it will be easy to forget you have the Reckless 10 on the bike.
This short video might give a better idea about the fit and features of the Reckless 10 on BMW F900GS.
To wrap the story up, here are some additional photos showing the bags from different angles.
