Yamaha Tenere 700 with Mosko Moto Reckless 80

If you're on a lookout for a proven, robust large capacity rack-less luggage setup for Yamaha Tenere 700, Mosko Moto Reckless 80 V4.0 is worth considering. Mosko stuff has been known to be built to take a beating. Over the years, we've had many opportunities to put it to the test on our own bikes, and we have to agree.

Let's take a closer look at how this setup works on a T700.

The bike is a 2025 Yamaha Tenere 700 Rally, but overall fitment will be the same for all Tenere model years and variants.

The Perun Moto Top Luggage Rack is mounted to the tail of the bike and provides a convenient place to bolt the Gnoblin or secure the straps. We used straps for several years before switching to the Gnoblin, and the ease and speed of installation it provides are hard to beat.

Placement of the Gnoblin on the rack directly dictates where the Reckless 80 will sit on the bike. We found that the forward hole on our rack works best. CURV harness of the R80 offers two positions for the Gnoblin, and we prefer using the front one.

Once the bags slides into place and Gnoblin engages, you can forget it's there. Harness has simply nowhere to move.

Our Gen 2 Tie-down Brackets take care of the lower straps. With integrated C-hook quick release slot it takes only seconds to secure the straps.

These straps are long since the bags are intended to fit on many different bike models. With the R80 mounted and secured, lose strap ends can be secured in several ways. Integrated velcro keepers work well.

For the cleanest result, and quickest installation of the bags, we suggest to trim the excess strap length. With this, there's no need to fiddle with the lose strap ends, making the mounting process quicker.

Obviously, if the same set of Reckless 80 is used on different bikes, make sure you don't cut the straps too short.

This rounds up the mounting process of the bags. With little practice, it takes less than a minute from start to finish.

Reckless 80 is modular system and provides different options to expand its capacity. Most of the time we have 4l Aux-Pox mounted on the underside of each side holster. These come in handy to pack tools, water bottles or medical kit.

Thanks to the relatively low mounted stock silencer of the T700, even with the Aux-Pox installed, there is plenty of clearance between the RHS bag and the exhaust. In my opinion there is absolutely no need to use a heat shield with this setup.

This will change if you have installed high mounted exhaust.

When even more storage space is needed, integrated Beaver tail makes it super easy to secure a tail bag, a tent or a handful of firewood.

In terms of fitment, this setup works extremely well on the Tenere. Reckless 80 harness sits on the side panels of the bike which drastically reduces bouncing when riding over rough terrain.

Overall width is slightly wider than the handlebars. This shouldn't be an issue on the type of terrain where a fully loaded Tenere is normally ridden.

The Reckless 80 is a versatile luggage setup that can be adapted to different types of trips. In its minimal configuration, it works well for weekend camping trips. Adding a tail bag under the Beavertail and auxiliary pockets provides plenty of extra storage for longer trips.
