We’re fans of our Mosko Moto bags, and it’s no secret. The Reckless 40 (v4.0) is no exception. The updated composite base is significantly stiffer than its predecessor, providing greater stability to the whole setup. It fits the BMW F900GS perfectly.
The bike is outfitted with the Perun Moto BMW F900GS Top luggage rack and Tie-down brackets, offering optimal strapping points. In the photo below, the Reckless 40 is positioned as far forward as possible without affecting the rider. It’s shown here without the optional tail bag.
Our Top luggage rack features several holes for mounting the Mosko Moto Gnoblin. This allows for considerable flexibility in adjusting the bags' position forward and aft, though moving the bags will require reinstalling the Gnoblin.
Attaching the Gnoblin hardware to the Reckless 40 base is a breeze — just four bolts to tighten. There are two positions on the base to choose from, pick the one which best suites your need.
Using the Gnoblin eliminates the need to fuss with top straps.
The lower straps are secured to our Tie-down brackets. While the passenger footrest mounts are also compatible, they tend to interfere with the rider’s leg too frequently.
Excess webbing length can be trimmed if preferred, but since we use these bags on multiple bikes, we utilize the provided velcro to keep the webbing tidy.
Leg holsters are set in the wide position which suites the bike perfectly.
The increased stiffness of the Reckless 40 (v4.0) base means the leg holsters sits bit wider than in previous versions. The setup remains compact and narrower than the handlebars, and there’s almost no chance of sagging, bouncing, or hitting the rear wheel or swingarm.
With the Reckless 40 mounted this way, it sits away from the stock silencer. Adding a heat shield is advisable as a precaution.
For those who prefer not to use the Gnoblin, the slots on our Top luggage rack are perfectly placed for securing the Reckless 40 with straps. This method allows for quicker adjustment of the fore-aft position, which is handy for finding the ideal spot.
Keeping the straps short enhances the stability of the setup.
The BMW F900GS has a short tail, so the Reckless 40 occupies most of the space on the luggage rack. However, it's still possible to install additional tail bags underneath the Beavertail if needed
A couple more photos demonstrating the fit of the Reckless 40 (v4.0) on the BMW F900GS are provided below.
