Giant Loop Great Basin on KTM 690 Enduro

Giant Loop Great Basin has been around for a while now. It's a refined, tried and tested rack-less luggage system. With almost 70 liters of volume, it provides plenty of space even for longer trips.

The bike is equipped with Perun moto 2019+ KTM 690 Luggage rack, Extension plate and Heel guards which offer secure strapping points. Fitment on the bike is excellent. The bags are installed as far forward as possible, without interfering with the riders' movements.

Luggage rack has slots which provide optimal tie-point for upper straps. Installation of the Great Basin is very easy, but it takes couple of minutes.

The bags are covering fuel filler cap. This is not an ideal scenario, but definitely shouldn't be a decisive factor in choosing a luggage system.

Lower straps are conveniently attached to Heel guards.

The bags rest entirely on the side plastics. Yes, the plastics will get scratched. Use of a self adhesive protection film is advised if scratches bother you. 

Additionally, bottom of the bags isn't touching the silencer. Using the heat shield still might be a good idea, just as an added precaution.

Although the Great Basin is relatively wide, the entire setup is still narrower than handlebars.

Surface of the Luggage rack remains free and it's possible to add a tail bag.

Adding Perun moto Extension plate doesn't influence fitment of the Great Basin bags. Upper straps still pass through the slots on Luggage rack.

Major advantage of using the Extension plate lies in larger surface. This makes installation of bigger capacity tail bags, or fuel/water bladders, more convenient. Giant loop Armadillo bag is a neat way to carry additional fuel or water.
