Our GP-00050 Yamaha Tenere 700 Tie-down brackets Gen1 are on the market for several years.

They proved great for riders who want to remove passenger foot peg brackets but still need a strapping point for rack-less systems. Due to their design, they work with all aftermarket exhaust systems that work with OEM passenger foot peg brackets - if exhaust system works with OEM foot peg brackets, it works with our Gen1 Tie-down brackets too.

If you have high mount exhaust system on your bike or plan to get one, we suggest getting GP-00050 Yamaha Tenere 700 Tie-down brackets Gen1, it is a safe bet.
During the years, we got some new ideas. First, we wanted to incorporate innovative quick-release C-hook on the tie-downs.

This allows very quick and easy install and removal of rack-less systems. Next, we wanted to place tie-down brackets even more "inside the bike", to further reduce the chance of possible interference with some bulky and big size enduro boots.
And we did exactly that with our new GP-00056 Yamaha Tenere 700 Tie-down brackets Gen2. To achieve this with no compromises, we placed the tie-downs just below the subframe strut. See the photo below.

This is a perfect spot, as it is "inside the bike" yet it clears the swingarm. But it interferes with some high mount exhaust systems. If you have an aftermarket high mount exhaust system, we suggest going for our GP-00050 Yamaha Tenere 700 Tie-down brackets Gen1. But if you still think there is a chance that your aftermarket exhaust system will work with our Gen2 tie-downs (some may work, but it is something you need to check out for yourself), please check the photo below and check if there is enough clearance there, on your bike. Gen2 Tie-down bracket vertically protrudes the foot peg mount on the subframe strut for 55 mm (see the photo - measured from the M8 bolt hole, not from the tube itself). Horizontally, it is flush with the subframe strut.
