Kriega's bike-specific OS-Bases provide excellent fitment, and the KTM 790/890 Adventure OS-Base is no exception. In this short article, we'll take a look at how it works with the Perun Moto Billet Top Rack - Large and Tie-down Brackets to create a versatile luggage setup for different types of riding.
The bags shown here are two OS-12s, but everything in this article also applies to the larger OS-18 and smaller OS-6 bags.
We have fitted the bike with our Billet Top Rack - Large and Tie-down Brackets, which provide convenient anchor points for securing the OS-Base. Mounting the OS-Base takes no time at all. Once it's placed over the rear seat, the lower straps can be routed through the slots in the Tie-down Brackets. The lower straps have a fixed length, and engaging the G-hooks sets the position of the OS-Base.

All that remains is to attach the upper straps. They are routed through the slots at the front of our rack, and the G-hooks are engaged. Tightening the upper straps secures the OS-Base firmly in place.

This setup sits snugly on the bike. The underside of the OS-Base rests on the bike's side panels, providing plenty of stability.

The RHS bag isn't too close to the stock silencer and risk of heat damage is low. For added peace of mind a heat shield can be added. We have used this setup without a heat shield more than once.

If you need more storage space than the side bags provide, there are several options to chose from. The OS-Base itself has attachment points which can be used to secure one of Kriega's smaller bags. Personally, I've avoided this option because having a bag on the rear seat limits my freedom of movement.
Another option is to mount the tail bag on our rack. The OS-Base doesn't cover the rack at all, so the entire top surface remains free. Depending on how much extra space you need, anything from a Kriega US-5 to a US-40 can be fitted.
Bags from the Drypack lineup are secured using OS-Rack Loops bolted to the underside of the rack.

The next couple of photos show the Kriega US-20 Drypack fitted. It's a nice middle ground in terms of size.

Kriega bags have a clean design and offer some neat features. The versatility of the OS-Base makes it a good choice for anything from day rides to multi-week trips.
