SW-Motech Trax ADV Top Case on KTM 1390 Super Adventure

The KTM 1390 Super Adventure is a beast. Following in the Dakar heritage of the earlier large KTM twins, the 1390 retains a lot of off-road capability. Admittedly, most riders will choose to stay on pavement, where this bike turns into a proper mile eater. Adding a top case feels natural in these circumstances.

Perun Moto Billet Top Rack for KTM 1290/1390 Super Adventure allows simple and direct installation of both the SW-Motech and Givi / Kappa Monokey top case hardware.

Our rack has always been designed primarily to serve as an anchor point for rackless luggage systems and tail bags. Top case compatibility was an added feature. Our intention was to allow riders to mount a top case for commuting and short rides, providing a convenient place to store a jacket, helmet or groceries.

Over time, it became clear that many riders like to use top cases for longer trips as well. This means more weight is being added to the bike. To reduce the risk of the additional load putting excessive stress on the top rack, we designed simple Top Case Supports.

Made from stainless steel, these supports greatly improve the stability of the rack, allowing more weight to be carried in the top case.

The 1390 is a large, roomy bike. However, if you often ride with a pillion, keep in mind that our rack sits closer to the seat than a more "road-oriented" rack would. As a result, the top case itself sits further forward, somewhat reducing the space available for the pillion.

The upside is that the top case has less impact on the bike's handling because the weight is kept closer to the bike's center.

For solo riding, especially on longer trips, this setup works really well. The top case stays close to the bike, and the additional supports provide some extra peace of mind when carrying more weight.
