Adding a tail bag to your bike is a simple and effective way to increase luggage capacity. Whether used alone or in combination with rack-less systems, a tail bag is a practical piece of gear for any rider. This article focuses on the features and fitment of the Mosko moto Backcountry 30l Duffle installed on the Ducati DesertX.
The Ducati DesertX has a slim rear end, which dictated the design of the Perun moto Top luggage rack. The resulting rack is narrow but offers sufficient support for the 30-liter Backcountry Duffle. 30l is close to the upper limit of what would comfortably fit on this bike, providing just the right amount of storage for extended trips.
Installation is straightforward. The bag is secured with two straps that attach to slots on the rack and pass through openings on the bag itself. Although we’re using Mosko’s cinch straps for this installation, any high-quality strap system will work just as well.
Note that the straps should go underneath beaver tail flap and tent pole bag, unlike what's shown in the photo above.
The mounting system also serves a dual purpose by compressing the bag. This means that even if the bag isn’t fully packed, the straps will keep it securely in place.
All edges of Perun moto Top luggage rack are chamfered and smooth, ensuring longevity of the straps.
Like all Mosko Moto gear, the Backcountry Duffle is built to last. The heavy-duty materials of the outer bag inspire confidence in any riding conditions. For added expandability, the Beavertail flap features Molle webbing on top. This allows for attachment of additional gear, expanding the bag's usability for longer trips. Beaver tail is offering quick-access storage for items like removed clothing layers or anything else you may need access to quickly but don’t want inside the main compartment.
Both ends of the bag feature roll-top closures, making it easy to access your gear while maintaining waterproof protection. The inner drybag is fully waterproof, ensuring your belongings stay dry even in challenging conditions. Additionally, the bag has grab handles on three sides and integrated backpack straps for easier carrying off the bike. Molle webbing on top and several attachment loops further expand the bag’s versatility.

And for the end, a couple more photos from different angles.
The Mosko moto Backcountry 30l Duffle is an excellent choice for riders looking to add storage to their Ducati DesertX. Its rugged build, versatility, and ease of use make it a top-tier solution for both weekend trips and long journeys.
