Mosko moto Alpine 60 on KTM 890 Adventure - Minimalist setup

Our Billet rack - Small for the KTM 790 and 890 Adventure was designed to be as compact and lightweight as possible, while still providing secure mounting points for rackless luggage and small tail bags. With the recent addition of compatibility with the Mosko Moto Gnoblin, this compact rack has become even more versatile.

The Mosko Moto Gnoblin transforms the way Reckless bags mount to the bike. In this article, we'll take a look at how the Alpine 60 fits the KTM 890 Adventure.

This is a surprisingly spacious luggage setup. Side bags are long and offer a ton of room. With large opening at the top, packing is a breeze. The design is clean without outside pockets or Molle panels.

As I have already mentioned, we're using the Gnoblin to secure the top of the harness to our Small Billet Rack. Out of the two pre-drilled Gnoblin holes on the rack, rear one provides the better fitment. Since the Alpine 60 harness has only one position for the Gnoblin, this really defines where the bags will sit on the bike.

If you prefer to use the straps to secure the luggage, rack offers dedicated slots with smoothly chamfered edges for this. One advantage of using the straps is that they allow more fore-aft position adjustment. We know that some riders prefer to move their rack-less bags further to the rear - which is something we don't recommend - and straps will enable that.

Once the Gnoblin is locked into place, top of the harness practically becomes part of the bike. Harness itself has nowhere to move which is beneficial on rough terrain.

We use our Tie-down brackets to secure the lower straps. Passenger footrest brackets will work as well.

Keeping the length of these straps to a minimum helps to reduce bouncing of the side bags.

The Alpine 60 can't be mounted further forward on this bike. Setup like this, the bags are still out of the rider's way. It's possible to actively move on the bike.

Apart from the Gnoblin mount, the harness doesn't rest on the rack. This eliminates pressure points on the underside of the harness.

Clearance to the stock silencer is good. I would comfortably use this setup without a heat shield. Still, adding one is a good precaution.

Side bags of the Alpine 60 are large, but sometimes even more space is needed. The included 15l tail bag mounts to the center of harness in seconds and gives additional capacity.

Keep in mind that you will hit the tail bag when moving all the way to the back, on steeper downhills.

The Alpine 60 is an excellent match for the KTM 790/890 Adventure. Paired with our Small Billet Rack and Tie-down Brackets, it offers a stable, spacious, and quick-to-mount luggage setup for any adventure.
