KTM 390 Adventure R with Mosko Moto Alpine 60

KTM 390 Adventure R is a capable bike in many different roles. From exploring the local trails to heading out for a multi week adventures, this bike has you covered. One of the things that change, depending on intended usage, is the choice of luggage. In this article we'll talk about fitment of the Mosko Moto Alpine 60 on the 390. A surprisingly spacious luggage setup that'll handle any adventure.

If you have a 390, or have seen photos online, you have probably noticed its clean, slim tail end. Adding any sort of luggage requires a level of improvisation. To avoid this, we ended up developing a Top Luggage Rack to simplify mounting of tail bags and rack-less systems.

To make the most out of the Mosko moto's Gnoblin quick mounting system, we have added three pre-drilled holes for its installation. When using the Alpine 60 bags, the middle position has proven to work the best.

Alpine 60 harness has only one position for the Gnoblin hardware which removes any guesswork about finding the right one.

With Gnoblin mounted onto the rack and harness, it takes just a couple of seconds to put the bags onto the bike.

Securing the lower straps is also a breeze. Our Heel Guards include a quick-release cutout, so there’s no need to thread the strap every time. Simply slide the strap trough the cutout and tighten.

Mounted like this, the Alpine 60 sits firmly in place. Side holsters just barely touch the rack, without creating any hot spots on the underside of the harness. They are supported by side panels of the bike, which helps with stability of the entire setup.

The bags will stay out of the rider's way. Only interference you may experience is when shifting your bodyweight all the way back, on steep downhills. Otherwise, the bags might as well be off the bike.

With the OEM exhaust located beneath the bike, there is no need to think about heat damage to the bags. We haven't tested any of the aftermarket high exhaust option. If you have, feel free to share your thoughts and tell us if it works with rackless bags.

One of the neat features of the Mosko rack-less bags is the ability to add a top bag directly to the harness. Alpine 60 is not an exception. It comes with a 15 liter top bags which simply clips into the harness using four straps. All the photos above show the full setup.

If you don't need the extra space, top bag can be left at home. This lowers the center of mass, while giving the rider more room to move on the seat. Having options is always a good thing.

All in all, the Mosko Alpine 60 presents a solid, very roomy luggage option with simple and clean design. It's lighter than other bags in Mosko's Reckless lineup which is a bonus for many. Paired with our Top Luggage Rack and Heel Guards, the whole setup becomes quick to mount, stable, and easy to live with day to day.
