Recently Kriega launched it's new OS-Base designed for KTM 690, Husqvarna 701 and GasGas 700 bikes.
As expected, it works great on Husqvarna 701 Enduro with Perun moto Luggage rack and Heel guards.
In the past, I was using universal Kriega OS-base on my 2019 KTM 690 Enduro R and I was very happy with it. More details can be seen in the this blog post.
This new model specific OS-base works even better, as the sides are angled perfectly now and lower straps hold the bags even more secure.
So, what is needed to install it on the bike with Perun moto rear rack? OS-bases are designed to work without any racks. So Kriega suggest using OS-rack loops and bolting them to the fender of the bike, which provides perfect anchor point for G-hooks on the upper OS-base straps.
Unfortunately, currently there are no holes on our rack for OS-rack loops in the required position. But using simple Kriega subframe loops (sold separately!), and attaching a pair to the slots on the rack, offers an excellent solution.
For more elegant look, rack loops are cut very short.
OS-base is placed exactly where it was designed to be carried, installing/removing takes a few seconds and it looks very sleek and elegant.
This is how this setup looks with OS-18 bags, on a Husqvarna 701 Enduro with Perun moto Luggage rack and Heel guards.
Very important - gas cap remains unobstructed.
Since the bags are very well placed and sit mostly on the side plastics, heat shield may not be necessary. But I strongly suggest using one, especially if you still have stock silencer.
Another great setup from Kriega, perfectly suited for KTM 690 Enduro/SMC-R, Husqvarna 701 Enduro/Supermoto and GasGas ES700/SM700.
