SW-Motech Trax ADV Top Case on Yamaha Tenere 700

There's no denying the practicality of having a top case mounted on a bike. Those who use their Teneres for commuting, running errands, even for pavement traveling, will know how useful a top case is. In this article we'll take a look at how the compact 38l SW-Motech Trax ADV aluminum top case works with our updated Gen 2 Top luggage rack for the T700. 

One of the neat features of our rack is that it comes with perfectly positioned pre-drilled holes for the installation of SW-Motech top case mounting hardware. Note that top case mounting hardware is not included with our rack.

All hardware bolts directly to the rack, eliminating the need for adapter plates. Installation is straight forward and takes only a couple of minutes.

Once the hardware is bolted to the rack, mounting the top case is seamless.

This compact top case sits securely on the rack. 

Slots at the front of the rack remain accessible, so it's possible to strap a tent or small drybag across the rear seat.

Speaking of the rear seat, keep in mind that our rack is primarily designed to provide perfect strapping points for different rack-less luggage systems and tail bags. This purpose dictates the rack's design, positioning it lower and further forward than a "road oriented" rack would sit. As a result, the top case also sits closer to the rider, and at an angle.

Passenger space is limited, so this is definitely not a two-up, long distance touring setup.

A simple, clean solution that adds everyday practicality to the T700 while staying true to the rack’s lightweight, rackless-focused design.
