As soon as 2019 KTM 690 Enduro R was launched we started to work on a rear rack for it, based on our experience with racks for earlier model years. One of the goals was to design a rack so it can be used to pull the bike out of the mud or pick it up from the ground.

We made several prototypes which had integrated grab handles, but that proved to be dead end. It was a nice idea and those racks were great for grabbing, but incorporated grab handles interfered with large rack-less bags, like Mosko moto Reckless 80, or they were uncomfortable for the pillion, placed at an awkward angle.

So we made current KTM 690 Enduro Luggage rack SD (2019+) slightly wider than it's predecessor. That way, rider can grab the side of the rack and use it to maneuver the bike or to pick it up. This proved to work very well.

But, several customers asked for "proper" grab handles.

Here is our solution - optional Grab Handles for KTM 690 Enduro Luggage rack SD (2019+).

These grab handles are designed to be used only with our 2019+ KTM 690 Enduro Luggage rack SD. Installation is very simple and quick, details are shown HERE

Base is made of 4 mm stainless steel and grab handle is made of billet aluminum.

Total weight is less than 0.7 kg, for both sides.

Rack remains at the same height and keep the low profile.

And it stays within boundaries of the bodywork.

Handles are interchangeable, so they can be installed to point upwards or downwards.

If used for the pillion, Grab handles can be mounted to point upwards. That way, angle is ideal and there is very little stress on the hand joints.

Also, grab handle itself is not too thin and it has 3D surface so it can be grabbed nicely.

If grab handles will be used only to maneuver the bike, they can be installed so they point downwards, keeping very low profile.

Additional benefit of this position is that grab handles, mounted like this, act as perfect stand-offs for rack-less bags, like Mosko moto Reckless 80 v.2 - grab handles are pushing the legs of R80 away from the hot silencer. Heat shield still has to be used, but bags are further from the silencer.

This giff explains the difference well. It is clear that Reckless 80 fits much better with Grab handles installed.

For even more details, we made a video.
